                                            OUR STORY

Picture
Farm House Barkery(R) Dog Treats were developed because of a desire to provide a better type of treat for the Pups in my family. I had been making All Natural, Fresh Oven Baked treats for a couple of years when one of my cats became ill late one night. After calling our family Vet out late in the evening, I baked a batch of Blueberry dog treats to take to him the next day. During the follow up visit for Hannah, the cat, he encouraged me to go to Market with the treats.

After much hemming and hawing, I decided to give it a whirl, and taste tested the treats across several states. If my friends had Pups, they received treats and they provided input so the recipes could be tweaked to what they are currently.

We purchase fresh, local in season items when we are able, believing it is important to support local as much as we can. Our treats are whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and natural Peanut Butter for a taste bud explosion of natural goodness in both our regular line, and Brown Rice/Oat line for those Pups who are allergy sensitive. We also carry a grain free Nekked Sweet Potato Dog Treat that has proven to be a top seller. As it's name implies, it's nothing but the Spud so it's a taste that is all Mother Nature!

We avoid adding salt and sugar to our products, with the exception of sugar in the icing of our specialty treats, believing special occasions call for special treating, and the salt that comes all ready added to our Natural Peanut Butter. To sweeten our fruit and vegetable treats, we use home made applesauce. We take the extra steps: slow roasting our Sweet Potatoes, use flavorful Blueberries, chop Fresh Apples, slice whole Bananas, grate fresh Carrots, roast whole Pumpkins in season, and use only Natural Peanut Butter to avoid hydrogenated oils, because that's how we do things Fresh on the Farm!

Believing that we are a community, we donate a portion of our profit to charity on a quarterly basis. Most of the donations are to Pet Charities, but each Christmas, we decorate our house with hundreds of lights set to music and accept donations to the St Jude's Children's Research Hospital. A Company match is made with a set limit to encourage folks to donate.

And while we mentioned our Pup family, let us introduce them to you: McKenzie (our Princess Basset Hound), Max a stately gentleman that knocked on our door and asked to join our family, plopped on our couch and has been a happy member, Mollie Grace our newest addition from Country Road Animal Rescue, one of our quarterly Charities; a sweet soul left on a back road in middle TN and a hug a bug. We are in love. The person who dropped her off is their loss; our gain. Abby, our kitty who is fast approaching 20 years, and thinks she owns the place and maybe at her age she does.  And always near and dear to our hearts: the ones who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge and guard us day and night: Buddy, Ace and Hannah.

Welcome to our Farm House Family! Please contact us if you have any questions about our product. We love what we do and we love talking about it!
